Understanding Menopause and Andropause: August

With an ageing population and the increasing retirement age, it is important for employers to take care of their employees.

There is no statutory retirement age in Hong Kong, but the Government has taken the lead to extend the retirement age of civil servants from 55-60 to 60-65, depending on the grade and year of entry.

Over the last decade, a lot of focus has been on breaking the glass ceiling, women in leadership as well as maternity and parental leave. What we forget to look at is our ageing population and the wellness of our diverse talent pool.

Over the next decade, the number of Gen Z employees is set to triple and the workplace has been adjusting to accommodate them but are we doing enough for our current employees? WiFA looks forward to hosting an informative discussion on menopause and andropause -- definitions, symptoms, causes, and treatments.

Menopause and Andropause are transitions to a new phase of life for women and men respectively as they enter late 40s and may continue for many years after. Changes during this time can lead to mood swings, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and related symptoms.

Understanding how to navigate through this complex maze can help women and men deal with the symptoms they are experiencing.
